Overview

Have you ever wished you could capture some memories of your dive to share with your friends and family, or even fine tune your underwater photography skills? Then the CMAS Underwater Photography Course is for you.

The CMAS Photography I, II and III will help you develop and refine your knowledge and skills to enable you to take great underwater photo’s.

Prerequisites

In order to participate in the CMAS Photography Diver Training Programme you will be required:

Level 1:

  • To be at least 14 years of age;
  • To hold a CMAS One Star or equivalent certification
  • To have at least 15 Logged dives

Level 2:

  • To be at least 16 years of age;
  • To hold a CMAS Two Star Advanced or equivalent certification
  • To hold a CMAS Photographer Level 1 or equivalent certification
  • To have at least 30 Logged dives

Level 3:

  • To be at least 18 years of age;
  • To hold a CMAS Two Star Advanced or equivalent certification
  • To hold a CMAS Photographer Level 2 or equivalent certification
  • To have at least 60 Logged dives

Level  1, 2 and 3

  • To undergo the prescribed CMAS-ISA Sport Diving Medical Examination and be declared medically fit to participate in recreational SCUBA diving; and
  • To complete the prescribed CMAS-ISA documentation before participating in any in-water training
  • Be literate (able to read the prescribed Manual and take the assessments which are in English).

What will you learn?

The CMAS Photography  Diver Training Programme consists of the following sections:

  1. A Theoretical Section which consists of eight/nine (8/9) Modules where you will be introduced to the theory and techniques of underwater photography and photography equipment
  2. An Open Water Section where you will gain experience by performing a number of open water dives and be required to take photo’s of various objects using different techniques.

Your CMAS Photography Diver Certification and what it means

As a certified CMAS Photography Diver you will have sufficient knowledge, skill and experience to select the correct photography equipment for the diving conditions and be able to take great photo’s.
